Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind. ~Seneca
An exhausting but exhilarating 10 days in France and Spain with thirty-eight others in tow (McAuley High students and parents). We had non-stop tours through Paris, Barcelona and Madrid. It is amazing to me how my body kept moving on such little sleep and food. It was mostly bland, starchy fill with few vegetables. We did have some great lunches and treats that were "on our own": palmiers, gelatos, moules (mussels), espressos.

The weather in Paris was near perfect. Barcelona had some morning rain but cleared later and Madrid was partly cloudy. Our guide, Sandra Garcia, was wonderful and patient with the large group. The travelers tried octopus and squid, walked miles and rode the metros (we developed an precision method to getting on and off trains), saw the Louvre and Notre Dame, spent Easter Weekend and Saint Jordi day in Barcelona, attended a flamenco show, touched the Mediterranean Sea and experienced the Guernica of Picasso. Some even got to see prostitutes working the streets and many explored the catacombs of Paris.

Wildly wonderful was the running through the parks and sidewalks of Paris at 10pm to catch the last evening boat tour on the Bateaux Mouches and see the Eiffel Tower and night lights along the Seine!
Their lives are now changed forever.
