"A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles."
~Tim Cahill
Within myself, here at sea, a new self, a freer
self. Not so much “new” but back
to the original – the source of my self.
That deeper, more open, more pure self – welling up through the layers
and coverings of years that have trained, institutionalized, me to think in a
certain way, a specific way about myself.
Restrictive, imprisoning, suppressive, judgmental. Especially concerning my body
shell. Now: clothing, less, moving
more freely, chatting with strangers … re-learning that it always works out.
“A stranger is just a friend you haven’t met yet.”
And there are so many wonderful strangers here!
On ship. Slept until 7. Easy morning. Foggy and
relaxing. Then a great Abraham
session sitting with Petra, Lisa, and Eliana. I really am enjoying this life, this lifestyle, this that I
am now doing. Not the cruise, but
the travel and knowing people. I want
to keep this going …
A bit of daily meditation, connection, then carry it
with me through the day. Like - who was it.. ? Brother
Lawrence in “Practicing the Presence”?
Or some Asian Christian author … (I can picture the book in my mind but
it was a long time ago.) I remember
the point exemplified that even in the daily tiny moments of life, like doing
dishes, we can connect to God, to Source, to the Universe (whatever name you
want to give it). The joyous
moments ebb and flow, the waves and swells of life, like the ocean as this ship
moves along. Suddenly I remember
the tiny vortices that I visualized last winter in Cuenca when Santiago and
Zilpa worked with me in a final spiritual session - connection to the Great Spiritual Existence. Producing freedom and choices. Not to
get away from old patterned thoughts so much as to experience true freedom while those
are still around.
The Universe responds to the vibration that our
emotions indicate are going on.
"Nothing really serious is going on here." Here in Life.
(We take so much so seriously .. and hence get lost in seriousness.) Reach into the basic sense of the spirit
through meditation, rather than getting so busy with the “things” about
things. To do that, get busy at
it, work at it, is like getting a beautiful new car and then pushing it
along. It needs to be fueled at
the Source. (I remember taking a
shot of bourbon before going into certain situations, just to get through an
upcoming event. Not needed. Make it a shot of spiritual vibration
connection.)
Bed before midnight.
Chalk up one point for a really good day.
[ I consider, time to time, separating my blogs by theme or interest - art, thoughts, travel - but it is all part of my life, so I share as I go. ]
