2008 Benches of Summer

Benches - discovered in odd spots - some obvious, some unusual: deep in the woods, high above a cliff overlooking the ocean, in the center of a park where any tired person might want to rest.

Some make me wonder "why would someone take the energy and work to put a bench in such an unusual spot?" And then there are those which have a tender dedication inscribed simply sharing the Why. Many do not.

Beautiful, thoughtful, giving. A simple, or ornate, place to rest for a moment and wonder.

Benches.
Placed in a specific location for a private reason ...
... with the wish to share that peace with others.
